Petite Chic: Kate Spade Fall 2012

I have been slow to browse the fashion goodness that has taken place these past two weeks (New York and London). One of the presentations that caught my eye was that of Kate Spade's. Apparently I am not the only American taken by Paris, as creative director Deborah Lloyd's inspiration was Cour D’Honneur at Paris’ Palais Royal.

Were there any shows that you loved? Now I need to read about the happenings at Paris Fashion Week!

Petite Colours: Orange and Lilac

Since moving into our new home I have been thinking about injecting a color scheme that will be a departure from previous abodes. Orange is a constant color staple for us, and now I am thinking of combining it with lilac. Decisions, decisions...

Petite Soiree: Fusion Tea Party

I enjoy drinking tea and eating the hors d'oeuvres that accompany it. This tea party takes it to the next level, adding Asian and Moroccan elements and color palette.

Petite Eats: Easy Desserts

Happy Valentine's Day! Wishing you a sweet day with these easy-to-make desserts:

Muesli crumble (based on this recipe):

I bought a bag of blueberry muesli from Trader Joe's a few weeks ago, and I did not care for it. The blueberries overpowered the taste of the muesli. Rather than throwing it away I used the said muesli to make the crumble. The recipe called for strawberries, but I used frozen peaches and raspberries instead.

Nutella tartine:

Did you know that February 5th was World Nutella Day? I made this Nutella tartine; recipe is by
Dorie Greenspan. I have a weakness for challah bread, so how fantastic is it that this is part of the dessert? On top of the bread are butter, orange marmalade, heated Nutella spread, cashews (I did not have hazelnuts), and a dash of sel de mer (sea salt). No, this is not as healthy as the muesli crumble but it is just as tasty!

Francophile Friday: French Blossom

Tomorrow my husband and I are throwing our daughter a party to celebrate her first birthday. We already bought her presents, but had I known about French Blossom I would have purchased gifts on the website. The retail prices are beyond my budget but the site is having a sale right now so hurry! Here are my picks, all under  $50... Have a fantastic weekend!

Petite Colours: Sorbet

I realize that "winter" in Southern California is somewhat of a joke. However, it has been unseasonably warm even by the region's standards. My mind cannot help but spring forward to sorbet hues.

Guess who read my mind? I found this in my inbox mail today:

Some sweet finds around the web...

Petite Eats: Les Madelienes

As I was reading some of the recap on Alt Summit last week (I must attend one of these days!) I learned about Les Madelienes, a patisserie/ cafe in Salt Lake City { thanks for the tip, Shop Sweet Things! }. I love savory and sweet treats; if you do as well then be prepared for some mouth-watering images!

Images from Les Madelienes

Apparently one of the must-eats at Les Madeleines is this kouign aman:

You do not have to be in the vicinity to enjoy this Breton flaky goodness; simply order from the website.

Enjoy!
