Color Scheming: Mustard + Honey + Salmon

Does the title make you hungry? Were you expecting a recipe? No actual food here; the title is alluding to the colors of mustard yellow, honey brown, and salmon pink. This is one my favorite color palettes: warm, cheery, and dare I say, delicious for spring!

Petite Shop-ping: Clever Nettle

One of the easiest ways to recycle and reduce consumption is to shop for gently used items and giving them a second life. In terms of clothing you must visit Clever Nettle on etsy.

Don't you just love how proprietor Anja has edited and organized her merchandise in these photos?

I have my eye on the following:

this blouse reminds me of Marc Jacobs

Do you have a favorite secondhand store?

First Easter Basket

When I was a new immigrant to the USA as child, I was captivated by all the fun baskets that I saw in the stores in the spring time. I had never seen one before, and I certainly never received any such goodness on Easter. That is, until I got married. On our first Easter my husband left out a plate of jelly beans, egg chocolates, and a small stuffed bunny for me.

Now that I have a wee one, I would like for my daughter to join in the fun. Granted she is only two-and-a-half months old. Obviously no candies and chocolates (reserving these for my hubby and myself), but certainly an age-appropriate toy or two, an Easter dress and/ or accessories, and some books.

I adore this petite outfit!
Jacadi Paris

These are the contents of my baby's basket:

An old basket I have lying around (it's over 10 years old!)

A close-up of the items for my daughter. The Bible was a gift from a friend, and
the egg soap was from my husband's aunt. I bought the set of shoes and
hairpiece from Target; they are made by Carter's.

For the parents:

The pink bunny was also from hubby's aunt, but it's not a safe toy
for babies due to the pull-able small parts. My husbands loves Cadbury creme eggs!
{ Can y'all indulge me in a rant? These chocolates were expensive! Luckily I had a coupon.
I realize that everything these days cost more, but give me abreak! I saw a 2-inch
M&M rabbit-shaped chocolate for $1.99; too much! }

Poppy Love

This outfit on Anthroholic caught my eye the other day:

The cardigan reminded me of a certain Marimekko print. Said cardigan then became the impetus for my quest on all things poppy...

J'adore: Hot Air Balloons

I have wanted to take a ride in a hot air balloon for some time, but have yet to do so.

available here

It is such a costly endeavor ($140 per person in San Diego!), so in the meantime I've been getting my fix in crafts and design.

Tory Burch's Guide to San Diego

Do any of you follow Tory Burch's blog? A recent post from her blog introduced readers to the designer's city guides; that is, cities that have Tory Burch boutiques. San Diego has a store, so my curiosity was piqued. To my pleasant surprise, Ms. Burch's recommendations on where to eat, shop, sight see, and take the kids are also among my favorite spots. I also learned of a few places that I have not heard of; will plan a visit soon.

Among my shared picks with Ms. Burch:

Cafe Chloe
My husband and I love to bring out-of-town guests to this bistro. Not only is the food consistently delicious, but the restaurant's decor is chic and classy.

SoLo
I've probably mentioned the SoLo a few times on this blog, and I'm glad that Ms. Burch agrees this is a great place to shop. The space houses several boutiques and merchants that sell design books, home furnishings, linens, and jewelry. I like to come here for unique gifts.

So does Tory Burch have a guide for your city? If so, do you agree with her recommendations?
