Remembering and Honoring...

the brave men and women of our military who died fighting for the land of the free and the home of the brave. Today is Memorial Day in the United States; I thank them for their courage and sacrifice.

Happy Weekend (and Redecorating )

I would be remiss to not wish you all a wonderful ( long ) weekend! Any grand plans? I'll mostly be a homebody, redecorating my abode for the summer. Out with the dark for something more light and airy...

Paris-inspired Soirées

I love to entertain and host parties, and I would do it more often for family and friends if they didn't cost so much money! I'm thinking that my next planned soiree should take cues from Paris.

lundi love: national stationery show 2010

Happy Monday everyone! Today's visual treats come in the form of paper goods and displays from this year's National Stationery Show, which was held in New York City last week.

Paper + the Big Apple= heavenly combination, non? :)

Happy Weekend: Palm Springs

The hubby and I are heading to Palm Springs in a few hours for a marriage retreat: growing stronger as a married couple in Jesus through workshops and fellowship, as well as lounging poolside and making time to appreciate the fabulous design of this desert.

Flowers in May

OK, so this post really is not about flowers, but you may like it anyway. :) I found these prints by Flowers in May via Black Eiffel, and I'm completely smitten! Care to guess which one is my favorite?

In addition to prints Flowers in May also designs wedding and social stationery, as well as magnets and coasters.

Sweet Dreams...

I say this all the time, but I think I may have found my dream bedroom (at least for the moment)! This one belongs to Abbe of Studio Ten.25, a design firm based in Dallas, Texas.

I love that even with her access to various design sources Abbe stuck to a tight budget. With the exception of to-the-trade materials from Duralee (the fabric used for the bench and pillows) and Kelly Wearstler for Schumacher (the famous "Imperial Trellis" print) everything else came from well-known chain stores.

I have a similar fan/ lighting fixture in my rental home that I detest and would remove in heartbeat if the place was actually mine, but somehow Abbe has made it work in her space.

You can check out the full design process here.
