Featured Blog: You Love Me and It's Heavenly

Still riding on the wedding theme, I thought I'd tell y'all about Carlene and her lovely blog. Maybe it's because her tastes are similar to mine, but I love this blog! Carlene chronicles her path towards the big day. And her dog... sooo adorable! Check it out!

Pretty in Pink

I'm sorry that I did not have anymore wedding-related posts this week. I'll spare you the ugly details as to why. But I was able to attend my friends' wedding last night. Such a beautiful couple and they are some of the kindest people I know. The bride was all about the pink, which really went well with the traditional Chinese/ Vietnamese wedding. She changed into 3 other outfits outside her wedding gown, and 2/3 were pink. The bridesmaid dresses were tea length and they were, you guessed it, pink!

I'd like to propose (no pun intended) some other ideas for a pink-themed wedding.

Wedding Placecards

I think my posts this next week will be wedding-oriented in honor of my friends Hugh and Susie, who will be marrying the very same week. I've known them for nearly 20 years!

I think the happy couple's style will be traditionally Chinese and Vietnamese. But, if they were to go with other themes then I would recommend these ideas for name place cards.

We all know that, love her or dislike her, Martha Stewart has fab DIY projects:

Resting on a hydrangea "bed"

A very preppy ribbon board

Seating cards on a tapestry!

Saw these via Faye and Greer-

I especially love the pinwheels and horseshoes!

You can even combine the place card with the favor-

Creative People: Jenny Grumbles

I was surprised to discover that Uptown Country's Jenny Grumbles now lives in Dallas, TX. I knew that she had a shop in San Diego's seaside enclave La Jolla, so this was news to me. I don't go to La Jolla often these days (hubby always nixes the idea), and when I do get to go with my girlfriends it's during the evening, when shops are already closed.

I don't know if the La Jolla shop is still here, but if you're a Dallas resident then consider yourself fortunate. Please visit Jenny's cute shop at Snider Plaza on 3419 Milton Ave. She is also an artist, and this is her gallery.

Apparently Jenny decorated and designed her condo on a champagne-taste-on-a-beer budget. It's very girly, so most husbands (including mine) will shake their heads if you dare bring it up. So I'm living vicariously through Jenny:
